Devlog #8: Improved Gamepad Support
The first step to better gamepad support by applying more options for the weapon switch which didn't work for the Windows controller in XInput. I solved it by offering both RB and RT for the weapon switch. For the hints, I added now a translation for Xbox and Windows controllers. This is the first step to remove some obstacles certain people experienced during testing.
I mainly tested the game with a Windows gamepad and Keyboard. It works with the PS4 gamepad as well but under Windows, the jump button is there the square and the shoot button is the circle whereas under Linux the jump button is the X and the shoot button is the triangle which both are not the best possible mapping. The problems I have has a lot to do with the library I use for this.
Go and get the new demo version, let me know what you think about this game in the comments. Thanks a lot to those who provided already feedback. I have now a ton of new tickets to work on before I dive into more content. Stay tuned.
